Spirit Communicates in Color

One of the ways Spirit will communicate with us is through the use of color. Because color can invoke emotion, it is an excellent medium through which Spirit can grab our attention and help us to understand its message. Being aware of this can help us to decipher a message from Spirit.

It is important to note that this information may first come to us through our senses other than our sense of sight. For example, it can come through our thoughts when we think about a specific color or colors. It can come through a sound when we hear the name of a color spoken. We may have a dream where we see a color, or we may take notice of a particular color through some other visual means like a tarot card, angel card, or some other object in our physical environment.

Here is a list of some of the possible meanings associated with colors:

RED – passion, desire, love, anger, survival, mother, father, lovers, Valentine’s Day, Archangel Uriel, root/base chakra

ORANGE – optimism, creativity, motivation, impulsive, supportive, author, teacher, Halloween, autumn, Archangel Gabriel, sacral chakra,

YELLOW – intellect, happiness, criticism, focus, education, school, summer, Archangel Jophiel, solar plexus chakra

GREEN – balance/harmony, envy, healing, nature, abundance, St. Patrick’s Day, springtime, grandparent(s), Archangel Raphael, heart chakra

BLUE – calm, peaceful, protective, sadness, communication, water, police officer, Archangel Michael, throat chakra

INDIGO – intuition, clairvoyance, ritualistic, wisdom, justice, business, sibling(s), winter, Archangel Raziel, brow/third-eye chakra

VIOLET – compassion, forgiveness, immaturity, royalty, higher self, Holy Spirit, soul mate, Easter, clergy, Archangel Zadkiel, crown chakra

Please note that this list is just a starting point as there are many more colors and possible meanings. If you want to learn more, there are many books on this topic. Some of the definitions and archangels associated with some colors may overlap, but for simplicity, I’ve only provided one archangel’s name as an example for each of the colors mentioned in this article. Additionally, it would be beneficial to assemble a list of symbolic meanings that resonate with you for each color. Spirit will use what you can personally relate to when it chooses to speak with you.
